Yvonne Keene Obituary

METHEUN - Yvonne Morton Keene, age 84, of Methuen, passed away peacefully at home on July 21 with her daughter whom she lived with, Louetta Keene, by her side.

Yvonne was born August 17, 1936 in Hugo Oklahoma. As a teenager Yvonne spent many years living in Hawaii, Germany and Japan due to her step-father serving in the army. She eventually moved to Berlin NH to settle down after meeting her husband at a military dance.

After getting her degree from Northeastern University, she opened a home daycare in North Andover MA which she ran for over 20 years until she retired in 1996. She loved all of her daycare kids like family and kept in touch with many of them. She was known as Mimi to most. She loved making photo albums and videos for each family to treasure memories. Prior to her retirement she taught classes at Northeastern University. After her retirement she moved back to Hugo Oklahoma to take care of her mother and joined the library board to raise money for the Choctaw County Library’s renovation. She spent many hours volunteering at the local elementary schools reading stories to children. She also worked as a substitute teacher and nannied for multiple families. In 2007 she moved back to Massachusetts to live with her daughter. In more recent years she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She enjoyed learning as much as she could and reading non-fiction books. She loved watching documentaries and helping others in anyway possible.

In addition to her daughter Louetta, Yvonne is survived by her first born, Cynthia Linscott and husband Arthur of Dover NH, granddaughter Tara Keene and partner David Fiorentini of Pelham NH, great grandchildren Bentley Keene and Jack Fiorentini of Pelham NH, extended family including Sopheap and Em Nuon and children Sophiena and Maxton of Lowell, Jacques Alexis and son Axel of Lexington Ma, Joanne Faneuf of Salem NH, longtime best friend of over 35 years Suzanne Clay of Tucson AZ, along with other family members and several nieces and nephews who referred to her as Aunt Nadine.
