ROCKPORT - Thomas Sigsworth of Rockport, MA formally of Great Barrington, died on Thursday, March 4, at the age of 79, due to complications of Covid-19.
Born on July 23, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ to Thomas Sigsworth, Sr. and Janet Tompkins. They moved to Great Barrington when Tom was very young. Tom went to Great Barrington schools and married the love of his life Florence (Stalker) at the age of 20. They had 60 years together filled with love, laughter and happiness and had two children together.
Tom was employed by Kimberly Clark Inc. in Lee, MA from 1966 to his retirement in 2001. He worked as a machinist where there was never a part he could not make or problem he could not solve.
After his retirement, Tom and Florence traveled the country in their large motor home. They were on the road for over five years, wintering in Arizona or Florida and summering in the Adirondacks of New York State. After crisscrossing the country countless times, they settled in Ocala, FL where they lived for nine years before the strong pull of grandchildren brought them back to New England. Tom would do anything for his two little granddaughters, whom brought him his most joy.
Besides his wife Florence of Rockport, MA, Tom also leaves behind two sons, Bill Sigsworth and his wife Lisa of Great Barrington and Michael Sigsworth and his fiancé Nikki Champagne of Rockport, MA; grandchildren MacEachern and Scotland Sigsworth of Merrimac, MA; Thomas Ball and his wife Raven of Honolulu, HI; Sydney, Zachary, and Brady Champagne of Rockport, MA and a great granddaughter Aria.
