Thomas Lee Obituary

HAVERHILL – Thomas F. Lee, 70, passed away on March 8, 2021 unexpectedly.

Thomas was born on January 12, 1951 in Boston, MA. He was the son of Brenda Lee (Sheehy) and Joseph Lee, who both predeceased him. He grew up in Haverhill, MA and graduated from Haverhill High School in 1969. Growing up in Haverhill, MA, the Boys and Girls Club was a big part of his life. He played basketball there, attended summer camps and when old enough coached basketball teams.

After high school, he went on to get his Bachelor’s of Science in Public Service Administration and Law and Justice from UMASS Lowell in 1980. He then obtained his Master’s of Arts in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College in 1985 while working on the Haverhill Police Department. He later went on to work for the Trial Courts of Massachusetts as a Probation Officer for the Haverhill District Court for thirty years. Thomas genuinely cared for the people and advocated for them to make positive changes in their lives.

Following his retirement, Thomas enjoyed traveling with his wife and visiting his daughter and grand puppies in NC and enjoying the sunshine at his home in Naples, FL. He also loved all Boston sports teams, his car shows and riding around in his classic 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. Above all he was the pillar of his family.

Thomas is survived by his wife Candace Lee (Doyle) of forty-five years and his daughter Krystal Lee, 38, now of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Castro and her husband Jose Castro of Haverhill, MA, his brother Douglas Lee and his wife Lynne Lee of Northridge, CA, his youngest brother Jeffrey Lee and his wife Lucy Maiullari of Chelmsford, MA, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his wife’s family. Thomas was a caring and loving son, sibling, husband, father and friend to all who knew him.  He will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts. We love you!
