Theresa 'Terry' Meyers McCabe, age 69, of Peterborough, New Hampshire, passed away on January 22, 2026, with her family by her side. Born September 13, 1956, in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Leo J. and Theresa (Mullins) Meyers. Terry graduated from South Glens Falls High School, then went on to graduate in 1978 from Siena College, where she formed several lifelong friendships and fell in love with Phil McCabe. They married in 1980 and built a beautiful life together.
Terry led a very successful career, starting in the insurance industry and eventually transitioning to elementary and middle school education. She obtained three Masters degrees over the course of her career, reflecting her intellectual curiosity and dedication to each new stage of her professional life. During her career in education, many summers were spent with her husband and children on the Great Sacandaga Lake, where she formed several lasting friendships. In retirement, she enjoyed hiking, reading, birding, and spending time with loved ones.
Above all else, Terry was incredibly devoted to her family and close friends. She was cherished by her husband, children, and grandchildren, the lucky recipients of her unwavering support and encouragement. She was an extraordinary person, and her enduring legacy of resilience, love, loyalty, and great sense of humor will be held close by those who knew and loved her.
Terry is survived by her husband, Philip J. McCabe, of Peterborough, NH; daughter Shea McCabe and son-in-law Jason Calman of Wilton, CT; son Reid McCabe of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren, Ivy and Miles Calman; sister, Patricia Beers and brother-in-law Donald Beers of Lake George, NY; brother, Thomas Meyers Sr. and sister-in-law Debora Meyers of Pasadena, MD; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, at St. Patrick’s Church, 7 Pound Ridge Road, Bedford, NY, beginning at 11:00 AM.
