Samuel 'Sam' Yazbek

Samuel Yazbek (Sam), 78, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, passed away on February 24 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long battle with bone cancer.

Sam was born on July 18, 1947, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the son of Albert and Elizabeth Yazbek. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School and worked for 20 years at the VA Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts.

He is survived by his son, Jason Yazbek; his grandchildren Henry, Steele, Briana, Alyvia, and JJ; as well as his first cousins Patty McCann of North Andover, Massachusetts, Eleanor Yazbek of Lawrence, and Ken Hajjar of Manchester, New Hampshire. He is also survived by nephews Michael Kamal and Ryan Bator, as well as dear friends, Keiith West and Sharon Pilz.

He was predeceased by his husband, Nicholas Leahy, and his son, Joel.
