Ruth Souza

Ruth (Bouchard) Souza, 84, of Salem, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026.

Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, Ruth lived a life rooted in kindness, connection, and friendship. She later spent her retirement years in Fort Pierce, FL, where she enjoyed building new friendships and becoming part of a vibrant community. In her final years back in New Hampshire, Ruth greatly enjoyed attending Silverthorne Adult Daycare Center in Salem, where she found joy in daily interactions and remained actively engaged with those around her.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Richard Souza and will be remembered as a devoted great aunt, a loyal friend, and a warm presence to all who knew her. She had a love for simple pleasures—knitting, bingo, and card games of all kinds. Texas Hold’em held a special place in her heart, and she was always ready for a good game and good company.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Richard Souza; her mother, Blandine Bouchard; her father, Albert Bouchard; and her brother, Albert “Sonny” Bouchard.

She is survived by her niece, Diane Noel Richards of Salem, New Hampshire, and her nephew, Richard Bouchard New Hampshire, both of whom cherished her deeply.

Services will be held later in the year, at which time Ruth will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in Lawrence, MA. Details will be announced at a later time.
