Rose Polsi Obituary

HAVERHILL - Rose (Angelo) Polsi passed away on July 28 at the age of 98.

She is predeceased by her beloved "sweetheart" and husband of 64 years, Albert, who passed away in 2005, her sister Edna Gallant and brother Nicholas Angelo.

Rose is survived by her son Donald Polsi and wife Cynthia of Lowell and daughter Maureen Bernier and husband Joseph of Bradford, along with her 7 adored grandchildren, Shauna Magee and husband Matthew of Byfield, Elaine Keough and husband John of Billerica, Lynne Long and husband Michael of Dracut, Joel Bernier and partner Jamie Richards of Oakland, CA, Erin Durkee and husband Matthew of Kingston, Ryan Bump and wife Nicole of Goffstown, NH and Christopher Polsi and partner Rachel Martin of Boston. Nonni also leaves behind her 13 "precious" great-grandchildren, Vincent, Marin, Tedy, Connell, Maeve, Fiona, Coleman, Rose, Mason, Henry, Cosette, Beau and Poppy; along with her loving nieces and nephews all whom filled her life with much joy.

Born in the North End of Boston on March 16, 1923, she went on to graduate from Chelsea High School. She spent time living in Medford, Chelsea, Danvers, Nashua, Mashpee, Plaistow and finally living with her daughter in Bradford for the past 14 years.

Her first job was as a records clerk at the Soldiers Home in Chelsea where she worked for many years. She also worked other jobs including Snow's Bakery in Danvers, Nashua NH High School cafeteria, prepping food at the Bradford Country Store, and took much pride in serving as a volunteer at the Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill ending only because of Covid.

Always keeping busy, she loved cooking, making latch hook rugs, collecting dolls, planting and caring for her flowers, taking long walks and talking to and sharing her life stories with friends and family, and taking much joy going anywhere and everywhere always ready to experience new things whenever she had the chance. She will be remembered by many for the signature bow she wore in her hair every day, carefully matching her outfit.

Rose had a zest for life and enjoyed every day to its fullest and brightened the lives of all those whom she met with her bright smile and vibrant personality. Her love of life was overshadowed only by her caring and generosity. She will be sadly missed by many.
