Ronald G. Ebert (Everybody’s Papa Ron), most recently of Merrimac, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Prescott House, North Andover, after a courageous year long battle following complications from a stroke.
Devoted and caring husband to the late Marianne (Sbraccia), Papa Ron leaves behind daughter Kelly and granddaughters Olivia, Emma Jo, and Aria of CO, granddaughter Alysha of NV, and many saddened family members, friends and VFW buddies, as he was a proud Vietnam Vet.
More so, originally transplanted from Pittsburgh many years ago, Papa remained a true Pittsburgh teams fan, and forever in heaven, he will be perched on a cloud with a Steelers & Penguins logo.
Papa Ron will always be remembered as the kindest, gentlest, most good natured and easy going guy-dog lover too, and someone always willing to help- especially at the Melrose VFW with bookkeeping and bartending, carefully making sure the beer wasn’t foamy and the counter was continually wiped down. Papa himself never met a good lager, pilsner, stout or ale beer he didn’t like! And Papa Ron, as a big all-around sports nut, had built up over his lifetime an incredible collection of assorted sports memorabilia, which he was so genuinely proud of.
Everyone who knew or met Papa Ron loved him, and each can share many stories. And true love stories never have endings.
Per Ron's wishes, services will not be held. Arrangements made by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
Donations in his name can be made to the Wounded Warriors or Disabled Veterans organizations, or an animal shelter of your choice.
If a family has an old person in it, who is loved, it possesses a jewel.
