Ronald Dotolo Obituary

HAMPSTEAD - Ronald J. Dotolo of Hampstead, NH, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Lynn, MA, Ron later settled in Haverhill, MA, where he raised his children before retiring in Ossipee NH and Hampstead NH.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Monica J. Dotolo, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and laughter. Ron was the proud father of Jeffrey Dotolo and his wife Tracy, Jessica McPhail and her husband Jay, and Justine Maguire and her husband Matthew. He adored his grandchildren—Dylan, Joey, Vinny, Andy, Ben, Ava, and Annie—each of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Ron is also survived by his brother Robert Dotolo and his wife Linda, and his sister Jodi Abate and her husband Lou, all of Danvers, MA. And many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Muriel and Vincent Dotolo, his sister Jean Kurra and her husband Jimmy of Lynn MA., his nephew Jake Abate of Danvers MA. And predeceased by his parents in law; Joseph and Irene Fazio both in under 45 days prior to him.

Ron’s life was a tapestry of cherished memories: He loved traveling with Monica to warmer weather. In his childhood, growing up around race horses, visiting his mother’s family in England. Working at his Dad’s restaurant the Latin Villa. Or playing with his childhood dog “Spot”. Summers were always spent on the water, and winter on the slopes. His wisdom and humor shaped the lives of those around him, as did his favorite sayings, “There are no wrong answers in math”,  “Why be sad when you can be happy?”, and “The answers are always in the text book”.

Ron had a sharp wit and a love for jokes ensured that he could always “razz” everyone, especially Monica. His passions for the Animals especially dogs, the New England Patriots, science, mathematics, reading, birdwatching, and music filled his days, but his true joy was found on the water—surfing the waves in Nahant, sailing, boating, or teaching his grandchildren to navigate the waves. He taught all of his children to bike, swim, dive, drive standard, downhill ski, and water ski.

Ron also had a knack for surprises, whether it was a spontaneous adventure or Science experiment and lots of fun. From Jimmy Buffett concerts to chasing fireworks at the sandbar, his life was filled with moments that felt like a golden hour.

A humble guy who asked for nor showed very little, Ron made countless sacrifices to ensure his wife, children and grandchildren had all the wonderful adventures life could offer.

He was loved by all and will be truly missed.
