HAVERHILL - Robert ‘Bob’ Fedorchuk, 92, of Haverhill, MA, passed away peacefully with his wife and two daughters at his side, on June 6, 2024 after a period of failing health.
He was born on August 30, 1931, son of the late Felix and Helen (Cortese) Fedorchuk.
After graduating from the Haverhill Trade School, Bob enlisted in the the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was stationed in Greenland, which he loved to talk about. After completion of his Air Force Service, Robert worked as an Auto Body Repairman for several different Auto Dealerships. He then continued his career as a Model Maker at Raytheon. Continuing his love of automobiles, he attended the General Motors Institute in Flint, MI where he trained to become an adjuster for General Motors. After working for General Motors for several years, he managed several Auto Dealerships in the New England Area. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Fitchburg State University, and then went on to spent over 30 years as a teacher and Administrator at Greater Lowell Regional Vocational Technical High School, in Tyngsboro, MA, until his retirement in 2005.
In his earlier years he loved to travel to the Islands, with his wife, Marge by his side, always returning sporting a great tan. His love of automobiles remained, going on to restore a Model T car and of course helping out any and all of those in need of car repairs. He then became interested in model ship building, and of course, each and every piece was precisely placed. He proudly displayed several of the ships in his home.
He is survived by his wife Margaret (Butler) Fedorchuk (the love of his life) whom he was married to for 68 years, his two daughters and son-in-laws, Cynthia and Jean-Guy Pinet and Sandra and Charles Hayes, all of Stratham, NH , two grandsons, Charles Hayes and fiancé Hannah Betit of Charlestown MA and Gregory Hayes and his wife, Colby, of Lincoln, RI, two great grandchildren, Hope and Brooks, his brother Richard Fedorchuk and his wife Joanne of Dracut, MA, nieces and nephews, Thomas Fedorchuk and his partner Carol Myott of Laconia, NH, Linda Fedorchuk and her partner Mark of Billerica, MA, Gary Fedorchuk and his wife Laureen of Wolfeboro, NH, Anne Depanfilis and her husband, Tony of Groveland, MA, and Susan Fedorchuk of Londonderry, NH. Robert was also predeceased by his nephew Mark Fedorchuk.
He is also survived by his childhood friend, Chester Domoracki and his wife Wanda of Sarasota, FL and their entire family. Chester was like a brother to Robert and their friendship was one that he cherished deeply.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 10, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will begin Tuesday morning in the funeral home at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill at 10:00 AM. U.S. Air Force Honors will follow.
