Robert D. Thys, Sr.

Robert D. Thys, Sr., of Haverhill, formerly of Cambridge, MA, passed away on December 7, 2025, after a brief illness.

Born to Mary and Maurice Thys, Robert grew up alongside his beloved siblings, Richard Thys and Annette Coleman. He dedicated many years of his life to serving the community as the sole proprietor of Bob’s Cleaning Company, where he was known for his reliability, hard work, and the friendships he formed with those he served.

Robert is survived by his devoted partner, Barbara Swallow of Haverhill; his son Robert M. Thys, Jr. and his wife Cheryl Thys of Baldwinville, MA; and his daughter Jennifer Brache and her husband Richard Brache of Haverhill. He was a proud grandfather to John-Paul and Jennifer Gilmore (Rob MacCorckle), Kristen (Gabe) Lehnert, and Emma Brache, as well as a loving great-grandfather to Christopher, Samuel, Catarina, and Hannah Lehnert, and Hailey MacCorkle.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 12 in Sacred Hearts Parish, Haverhill, beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Saint Michael Cemetery, 500 Canterbury Street, Boston.
