Robert Petro Obituary

HAVERHILL - Robert W. Petro unexpectedly passed away at the age of 61 on Thursday, June 18, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Baronian- Petro of Haverhill, Massachusetts, his sons, Joseph of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and Christopher of Amesbury, Massachusetts and his brother Charles Petro of Pensacola, Florida. Bob is predeceased by his brothers Mike and Ronnie Petro.

Bob was a very caring and loving soul. He was a devoted father to his sons, along with being a true care giver to his brother, Mother and friends as well. He cared deeply for his family and friends. He wanted to give those he loved the best out of life and would always be there to help them.

Bob began his career in the Automotive Industry at the age of 17. For over 40 years he was dedicated to his work in that business working his way tirelessly up the ranks. He became a Master Mechanic; one of the top 10 mechanics in the entire country. Eventually he became a Fixed Operations Director for the Ira Motor Group/Group 1 Automotive in the year 2000 for the regions of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and New Jersey. He was well respected throughout the industry and was always well received by his co-workers and staff. He carried himself with dignity and would always strive for nothing short of excellence.

Automotive was truly in his blood. He had a passion for Muscle Cars both old and new. One of his favorites being his 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 and his 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 (not to forget his 1969 Chevy Chevelle). He enjoyed going to old car shows which allowed him to step back in time and remember those undeniable styles and pure muscle of the day.

At home we enjoyed the lighter side; the down-to-earth, fun loving man we knew and loved. He looked forward to spending time with his family, including his brother Mike, watching movies, enjoying dinners and sharing a lot of laughs together. He had the respect from all of us and was held in high regard. Those who knew him truly loved him. He genuinely had a heart of gold and would try to help anyone he thought was in need. Bob will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him.

Due to the current situation with Covid-19, a memorial gathering will be announced in the near future.
