HAVERHILL – Robert D. Homer, 65, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, with his cherished wife by his side.
Bob was born in Melrose on August 1, 1955, son of the late Edward and Lillian (Brown) Homer. He was raised in Wakefield and graduated from Andover High School. Bob lived majority of his life in No. Andover and Haverhill.
He worked as a chef for many years at Lawrence General Hospital. His activities included going to the beach and concerts, traveling especially on cruises, cooking and watching cooking shows, going out to dinner and dining at new restaurants, enjoyed playing the lottery, most of all enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.
His surviving family members include his loving wife Cynthia (Hamilton) Homer, married almost 39 years this March 6; brother Teddy Homer; brother in-law Barry Hamilton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; PCA’s Brittany Quintana and Ellen Cunha who gave great care to Bob over the years; Peter Ouellette and Mike Mullen who have been a tremendous friends through the years; predeceased in-laws Gary Hamilton, Roger Hamilton and Barbara Livingston.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 28, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Funeral services Monday in the funeral home beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Note to wear face coverings and social distancing measures will be in place.
