Richard Michael Roach

GROVELAND - Richard M. Roach, born February 24, 1941, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A longtime resident of Lynn, Massachusetts, Richard spent the past 17 years embracing the sunshine and vibrant community of Bonita Springs, Florida.

Richard was the devoted husband of 65 years to the late Sandra (Trull) Roach, and together they built a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. He was a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence lit up the lives of all who knew him. His memory is carried forward by his four children: Kathleen Rheault and her husband Steve of Haverhill, MA; Tracy Spaulding and her husband Dan of Groveland, MA; Roger Roach and his wife Sherry of Topsfield, MA; and Bonnie Tisdale and her husband Jim of Bristol, NH. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever treasure his love and guidance.

Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandra; his son, Richard M. Roach Jr.; his grandson, Frank Roach; and his parents, Richard and Birdie (Cunningham) Roach.

Born and raised in Lynn, MA, Richard lived a life full of passion and hard work. He had a lifelong enthusiasm for working on cars, a hobby that began in his youth and extended to his participation in racing during his early years. Richard spent much of his career at General Electric in Lynn, where his dedication and strong work ethic earned him the respect of his peers.

In retirement, Richard and Sandra relocated to Bonita Springs, where they found joy and fulfillment in their vibrant community. Richard played softball on the park's team well into his 80s, and together, he and Sandra shared countless adventures. From bocce games and parades to festivals and lively card nights with dear friends, they embraced every moment. Their shared love for life and each other left a lasting impression on everyone they met.

Richard’s kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends made him a beloved figure in every circle he touched. His memory will continue to inspire and bring warmth to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
