Richard R. Marquis

BANGOR, ME - Richard Marquis passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2022 at the age of 58.

Richard was born on September 4, 1963 in Methuen, MA to Francoise Hanley and Joseph Marquis.

Richard attended the Lawrence Vocational technical School. After moving to Bangor, ME Richard worked for the Orono School System. He was a skilled tradesman, and a dedicated worker who will be sadly missed by coworkers, students, and friends. 

Richard was the proud father of Nicholas and Robert Wormald. He loved attending his son’s sporting events, school activities, and was always proud of his children’s accomplishments. He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends, and family at Webster Lake in Franklin, NH, and the White Mountains. He will fondly be remembered for his generosity, and kindness, but mostly he will be remembered for being quick witted, funny, and smart.  Richard was an avid sports fan of the New England Patriots, and Philadelphia 76ers. He loved collecting antiques, and was a skilled card player, history buff, and dog lover. 

Richard was a devoted brother, and son who will be sorely missed. He is survived by his sons Nicholas Wormald, and wife Nicole of Sandown, NH. Robert Wormald of Bradford, MA. His mother Francoise Hanley of Bradford, MA His brother Claude Marquis, and companion Paula Copeland of Milo, ME. His sister Nancy Gorman of Methuen, MA.  Richard is also survived by several nieces, and nephews, and his only Grandchild, Mila Wormald.

Richard is preceded in death by his father Joseph R. Marquis of Lawrence, MA, and Martin Hanley Jr. of Bradford, MA.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Gathering will follow on Wednesday morning in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Haverhill. For guestbook, please visit www.driscollcares.com
