HAVERHILL - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pasqualina (LoConte) Solimino, 90, on Monday, November 27, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Grottaminarda, Italy on November 2, 1933 to her parents Clemintina Annese and Angelo LoConte.
In May 1963 Pasqualina travelled to the United States to build a better life for herself. It was there in Haverhill, Ma that she met and married Genaro Solimino and they raised their two children. She found work at Hartman shoe company, and Eastern Canvas factory of Haverhill, MA. She then dedicated 20 years of her work to elderly services.
Her passion in life was her family. Not only did she participate in all of her children’s life events, she played a huge role in the lives of her grandchildren. She was a talented sewer and cook. Sunday gatherings were an event at her home and it was very important to her that her family was there. The wonderful aromas of her Sunday meals were enjoyed throughout the neighborhood.
If we had to pick one word to describe Pasqualina, her family would agree that the word would be selfless. She gave every day of her life to her family and she was everyone’s nana. Always opening her heart and home to anyone who needed help. We will all miss her fiery spirit, her open heart, her kindness, her wisdom and her determination never to give up on herself or anyone she loved.
Pasqualina is survived by her sister Leonilda LoConte of Italy. She leaves behind her son Anthony Solimino and his wife Jennfier (Bourke) Solimino of Haverhill, MA, her daughter Anna Solimino of Newburyport, MA; her three grandchildren Matthew Coorey and fiancé Erin Sullivan of North Andover, MA, Whitnei Coorey and lifelong partner Adam Lula of Manchester, NH and Nicholas Coorey of Haverhill, MA; her great-grandchildren Liam, Jack and Henry and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Pasqualina also leaves her lifelong friends Adriannne and Valentino Fiorellini of Haverhill, MA who she met when she arrived in the United States and remained her forever friends.
Pasqualina is predeceased by her parents Clemintina Annese and Angelo LoConte, sisters Concetta and Maria and brother Michaelango, all of Italy.
