It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Norma A. (Williams) Riley age 94 on June 18, 2025.
Norma was Born on November 2, 1930, to Andrew and Edna Williams. In her early years Norma was a re-nowned dancer along with her cousin the late Father Joseph Laporte, who once danced for General George L. Patton. Norma was an extremely successful Real Estate Broker who dedicated over 45 years to helping families find their American Dream. Norma was a lifelong member of Saint James Parish of Haverhill. Norma would take her grandchildren on trips as they graduated the 8th grade, which was one of her highlights of her life, and also left an incredible impression on her grandchildren. Spending time with her family was the most important aspect of her later years. There was not a day where she would not interact with one of her grandchildren sharing the current events of the children’s latest adventures. Norma had 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Norma will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, nana and nana two to the great-grandchildren. Norma married John J. Riley in 1950, they were married for 45 years until he passed away in 1997. She was predeceased by her son John J. Riley. She is survived by her children Robert W. Riley and wife June Riley of Haverhill and their four daughters Dr. Julie Riley, Annmarie Guertin and husband Michael, Jennifer Barnard and husband Craig, Kathleen Sarfde and husband Eric; the late John J. Riley’s three daughters Megan Riley, Lauren Riley McGuire and husband Sean and Marykate Riley of Haverhill; Timothy Riley and wife Debora of Haverhill and two grandchildren Shannon Riley Torres and Erin Riley of Haverhill; daughter Mary Riley Emery and husband Charles of Haverhill and their three sons Christopher and partner Angela Borden, James and partner Katie Miller and Alex Emery of Haverhill; daughter Maureen (Riley) McGonagle and husband Mike of Haverhill and their their sons Michael McGonagle, Jr. and wife Heather of Plaistow and Brenden McGonagle of Haverhill.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.
