Obituary

HAMPSTEAD, NH – Nancy Channell entered into the arms of Jesus on August 10, 2023.

Nancy was born on May 8, 1934 to Herman and Ethel Comley and was brought up primarily in Merrimac, Massachusetts. She was a most devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to any who knew her. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Lewis; sister Joyce Driscoll; daughters Ellen Currier and husband Jim of North Berwick, ME, Julie Lang and husband Bob of Plaistow, NH, Robin Dalton and husband Michael of Arundel, ME and son Robert (Bob) Channell of Danville, NH. Nancy was “the best Grammy” to Michelle, Paige, Cory, Jefferson, Jeremy, Karalyn Nancy, Nicholas and Tiffany; great-grandmother to Alex, Amelia, William and Eleanor, and nieces and nephews. Nancy is predeceased by siblings Lloyd Comley, Marge Wilbur, Albert Comley, nieces and nephews and grandson Samuel (Sammy) Dalton.

Nancy graduated from Merrimac High School. She met her “Honey-boy” Lewis at Skateland in 1955. They married July 22, 1956. Together they brought their children up in Haverhill, MA and Newton, NH. She worked many years at Frequency Devices in Haverhill as well Raytheon where she helped make Patriot Missiles that were used to protect our troops overseas.

Nancy enjoyed flowers, bowling, swimming, and knitting and crocheting for her family and going to Florida in the winters. She was very good natured, always ready to give loving hugs, which were the best, and her beautiful smile always brightened and encouraged those around her with her sweet and gentle voice.

Nancy and Lewis were baptized on their 40th wedding anniversary and she had a strong belief in the Lord. Nancy is a miraculous 18-year liver transplant survivor and she encourages everyone to be an organ donor. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at High Pointe Hospice House and Hampstead Fire Department Rescue for their quality of care.
