Maureen (Barron) Schofield, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025

She was born on November 2, 1947 in Boston, daughter of Aloysius Paul Barron and Kathryn Margaret (Sullivan) Barron.

One of eight children, Maureen grew up in South Boston and graduated from Gate of Heaven High School. Following high school she worked in the medical field before marrying and devoting her love and time to raising her three children. Later, as her kids grew older, she worked as a bookkeeper.

Maureen especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, going out to lunch with dear friends, partaking in her church community and staying in touch with her siblings. In her younger years she was an avid tennis player and spent many winters on the ski slopes of New Hampshire. She adored her pets over the years: Brittany, Sheba, Bonnie and Clyde.

Beloved member of Unitarian Universalist Church of Haverhill for over 25 years, she was an active participant in the church Circle and Reflections groups, as well as the choir.

Maureen was funny, entertaining, spunky and spirited, with sparkling eyes, an infectious laugh and vibrant style. She had a big heart, was deeply generous and caring to her friends and family. She was easy to be around and gave great hugs.

Remaining to cherish Maureen's memory are her children William (Renny), Jeremy and Hillary; her grandchildren Sadie and Sabrina; her sisters Kathy, Diane, Linda and Janice.

Preceding Maureen in death are her parents Aloysius & Kathryn, as well as her brothers Paul, Stephen and Robbie.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 10, in the Unitarian Universalist Church at 15 Kenoza Avene, Haverhill at 2:00 PM.
