Marlene MacInnis Obituary

LYNN - Marlene Lillian MacInnis, 87, of Lynn, MA passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024. Born July 15, 1936, she was the daughter to the late George and Mabel Robinson. Marlene was the loving wife to Donald MacInnis for 65 years. Marlene is survived by her son Jeffrey and his wife Dianne, daughter Pamela Hinkle and her husband James, daughter Deborah D’Amato and her husband Tony, daughter in-law Lesley MacInnis, wife of predeceased son Richard. In addition, she leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Marlene was predeceased by her Husband Donald “Ray” MacInnis and her 5 brothers George, Kenneth, Vincent, Clarence and Donald Robinson.

Marlene was a lifelong resident of Lynn, MA and graduated from Lynn English High School. She married Donald 'Ray' in July of 1957 with whom she had four children. Marlene was a full-time homemaker, but always seemed to have a part-time job while raising her children. She worked in the once thriving Lynn Shoe Industry as well as several local retail stores, Rich’s and Walmart.

Marlene enjoyed making ceramics, many pieces are still held by family members today. She loved Bingo and was an avid slot machine player with her many trips to Vegas, Atlantic City and Foxwoods. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and took many vacations around the country. In her earlier years she enjoyed many road trip vacations up and down the East Coast with her husband and children. In retirement, she continued to travel to many other destinations, some of her favorites being Florida, Las Vegas, and the Caribbean.

Marlene always enjoyed entertaining, inviting friends and family to her home for dinner and various celebrations. During the Summer months she enjoyed sharing her backyard, pool and food with friends and neighbors. Her hospitality will be greatly missed.
