Lois Garabedian Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lois D. Garabedian, 73 years old, of Plaistow, NH. She passed away on September 8, 2025, after a short illness, with her children by her side. Born in Lawrence, MA, Lois was the daughter of Edward Ouellette and Gladys (Houle) Gallant. She graduated from Salem High School and began her career at Prudential where she started as a clerk and advanced to assistant manager. She then worked for Lincoln National before joining the family business, Broadway Farm. She maintained the books and helped at the farm stand while raising her children, George and Laurie. Later she returned to the workforce as a bookkeeper for The Coach Company in Plaistow, NH for many years before making her final career move to Verizon (which was Bell Atlantic at the time). She retired from Verizon in 2017.

Lois will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, “Grammy Lois”, and friend to many. She shared her life for the past 25 years with her devoted partner, Ron Soen. Together, they enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, and friends, going on adventures near and far, and watching their favorite shows at home. When her children were young, Lois loved to sew, creating handmade Halloween costumes, clothes, and dolls. She enjoyed hosting holidays and family gatherings where her famous chicken pot pie and giant cookie trays became tradition. She loved to shop and had a shoe collection to prove it.  Lois had many dear friends who will deeply miss her, especially her Ya-Ya sisters, exercise group, her beloved neighbor and friend Dalsun, and her best friend, her sister Nancy.

Lois is survived by her son George Garabedian of Hampton, NH, daughter Dr. Laurie Garabedian of Foxboro, MA. Her beloved partner Roland (Ron) Soen of Plaistow, NH. Her brother Grant Ouellette and wife Sandy of Belmont, NH. Her sister Nancy Gallant and husband Donald of Port St. Lucie, FL. Her cherished nieces and nephews and the children and grandchildren of Ron Soen who she loved as her own.
