METHUEN - Lloyd J. King, 88, of Methuen, passed away peacefully at his home on February 18, 2021 with his beloved wife and loving family by his side.
Born in Angliers, Quebec, Canada on March 21, 1932, he was the son of the late Thomas and Alice (Hunter) King. He was the youngest of eleven children. He was raised and educated in Canada before coming to the U.S. in October of 1955 and became a naturalized citizen on April 29,1963.
Lloyd enjoyed classic country music, dancing, traveling, and playing fiddle and guitar. He was a sweet, kind, caring, gentle, and generous man and will be known by many for his infectious smile, wit and fiddle playing as a guest at various country dances, especially the VFW in Salem, N.H. where he met his loving wife.
Lloyd was employed as a certified welder at H.P. Hood LLC in Charlestown. He retired in March of 1995 after 25 years of service. As a devoted husband, caring step-father, and dear friend to many, words cannot express how much he will be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl A. King of Methuen; step-daughters Jamie Davidowicz and husband John of Bradford, Cynthia Shimanski of Hermitage, TN, Jodi Shimanski and fiancé Carlos Lopez, of Haverhill, Meagan Welch of Manchester, NH and Kristin Eldridge and her fiancé Joshua Anderson of Haverhill; fifteen step-grandchildren and one step great granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lloyd was predeceased by sisters Hilda, Nora, Beatrice,Florence, Lena, Mary, Laura and Myra and brothers Robert and Thomas.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no calling hours. Services will be private and held at a future date in Haverhill. Interment will be in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
