Lisa (Garchinsky) Barnes

HAVERHILL - Lisa Barnes, 63, of Haverhill, MA passed away surrounded by loved ones on July 20, 2024.

She was born in Winthrop, MA on February 6, 1961 to Michael and Elizabeth Garchinsky. Youngest sister to Anne, Jane, and Mary Garchinsky. Lisa loved caring for others which led her to a career in nursing. She prided herself on giving care to those in need with compassion and understanding for many years until her early retirement.

She met the love of her life, Jim Barnes and married him on April 22, 1984. Together they raised three children, Elizabeth, Michael and Jennifer Barnes. Lisa was a devoted wife and loving mother. Her personality, and outlook on life often reflected her core values of strength, love and compassion for all. She understood that death is an eventual part of the journey of life. She also believed that the journey should be celebrated not mourned as it ends. She would not want to be remembered in sadness, but the same humor and joy that she brought to so many in her life.

Lisa is survived by her mother, sisters, husband, children and many friends. All of whom will dearly love, miss and carry her memory along their own journey.

Lisa's Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 25, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Prayer Service will begin at 6:00 PM. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
