HAVERHILL - Lawrence B. McAdam, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024. Born on November 14, 1942, in Dover, NH, he was the son of Thomas and Beatrice McAdam. Larry was educated at St. Mary’s School and graduated from Dover High School in 1960. He attended Northeastern University and graduated from Northern Essex.
Following high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed in England for four years, a time he fondly remembered throughout his life. Upon returning to the United States, Larry embarked on a dedicated career with Western Electric, AT&T, and ultimately Lucent Technologies, where he worked for thirty-eight years.
Larry’s love for his community and passion for coaching led him to spend fifteen years as a baseball coach in Riverside Little League and several seasons coaching basketball in the YMCA youth league, where he touched many young lives with his guidance and encouragement.
Larry shared fifty-eight wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Carole (Jacques) McAdam. Together, they raised their three children in the Bradford section of Haverhill, MA. For the past two decades, Larry and Carole also enjoyed their time in Naples, Florida, where they lived full-time until recently relocating back to Haverhill.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Beatrice, as well as his siblings, Robert, Thomas, Barbara, Philip, Paul and Carolyn.
Larry is lovingly remembered by his wife Carole; his children, Timothy (Wendy) of Portola Valley, California; Amy (Jessie Gadd) of Plaistow, New Hampshire; and Andrew (Tracy) of Fairfield, Connecticut. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Carly, Harry, and Sarah of Portola Valley, California; Logan of Plaistow, New Hampshire; and Genevieve of Fairfield, Connecticut. Larry's loyal Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Bailey, also held a special place in his heart.
