John Arthur Melonas

John Arthur Melonas a proud lifelong resident of Haverhill, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born on March 1, 1935, he was the son of the late Arthur Melonas and Beatrice Peters. He graduated from Haverhill High School and went on to study electrical engineering in college before serving honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

A true entrepreneur, John built a long and successful career. He founded and operated Spartan and Pacer Electronics in Woburn, Mass, and later owned Academy Chevrolet and the Ramada Inn in Lewiston, Maine. He was also a savvy investor in both commercial and residential real estate, holding numerous properties over the years.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, he had a deep passion for cars and a lifelong love of boating. He also owned racehorses, with many going on to become champions—an interest he pursued with pride and enthusiasm over the years.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years, Tina. He is survived by his children: Peter, Michael, Joanne, and Arthur, his grandchildren: Nicollette (and her husband Karl), Nicholas (and his wife Courtney), Christian, Ethan; and several great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind extended family and many friends, all part of a life well-lived.
