John J. Hannagan

HAVERHILL - John J. Hannagan, 72, from Haverhill, Massachusetts, passed away on August 30, 2023, after bravely fighting against AML.

He was also a survivor of colorectal cancer. Born on April 30, 1951, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he lived in Haverhill for the last 26 years. He had worked at Methuen Construction for a considerable period. John was known for his kindness and loyalty.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Debra, his son Robert A. Hannagan of Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, his daughter Stephanie A. Hannagan of Plaistow, New Hampshire, and his cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey and Makayla. He is also survived by his sister Kathleen A. O'Donohue of Haverhill, his brother James E. (Caron) Hannagan of Methuen, Massachusetts, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. John was preceded in death by his parents, John J. Hannagan and Eileen Hannagan, his brothers Steven C. and Michael P., and his beloved grandmother, Nana. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and longstanding friends.

The family kindly requests that in his memory, people perform random acts of kindness, holding true to his motto, "Treat all people the same." He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
