John R. Donovan

HAVERHILL - John R. Donovan, age 55, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022, after a long illness. 

Born on November 17, 1966, John grew up in Lawrence and spent most of his adult life living in Haverhill.  John enjoyed working with his hands and spent many years in the carpentry field.  Once he was no longer working, he enjoyed keeping a garden and took great pride in this tomato plants. John was a colorful storyteller and loved to tell his “back in the day” stories.  John didn’t hold any punches and was quick to tell you exactly what he thought of a given situation.  John made friends everywhere he went and will be missed by many.

John is survived by his loving girlfriend, Amanda Osborne of Haverhill, MA.  John also leaves behind his five children: Colleen Jade of Salem, NH, John Donovan III, and his wife Jackie of Freetown, MA, Crystal Jo Rocha of Fall River, MA, Nicholas Donovan of Salem, NH, and Haley Donovan of Haverhill, MA, several grandchildren, and many more family members, and friends.

John will also be missed by his siblings: Lisa Donovan of Dracut, MA, Colleen Donovan, and her husband Pasquale Messina of Sandown, NH, Patrick Donovan, and his wife Judith Nazaire of Nashua, NH, and Bobby Lane Caron of Londonderry, NH. 

John was predeceased by his parents John R. Donovan and Charlene McKay. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 6:30 PM. Services will follow begin at 6:30 PM. For guestbook, please visit www.driscollcares.com
