John DeMarco Obituary

HAVERHILL - John F. DeMarco passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Mimi S. DeMarco and John F. DeMarco, Jr.

He resided in Haverhill, MA, John was raised in Winchester and took great pride in his roots there. He graduated from Winchester High School in 1987, where he was the quarterback for the 1986 MA. Division 1 Super Bowl Champion, Winchester Sachems—a testament to his incredible athletic talent.

John later graduated from the University of Maine and enjoyed a successful career as a salesman.  Known for his signature scally cap, John was proud of his Irish heritage. His friendly demeanor and his ability to make people laugh endeared him to everyone he met, and he was truly loved by all. He was genuinely a good man.

In his youth, John was an avid tabletop gamer and cherished many hours of Strat-O-Matic games with his brother in their family home in Winchester.

John’s greatest pride and joy were his two sons, Nicholas and James. He was a devoted father who never missed one of their games, cheering them on at every opportunity. He shared countless memorable moments watching the New England professional sports teams with them. His bond with his sons was profound, and he loved them with all his heart.

In addition to his sons, John is survived by his wife, Coreen (Fitzpatrick) DeMarco. They enjoyed nearly three decades of loving and devoted partnership, and were closely bonded until the end. Coreen remained by his bedside, offering comfort, support and love throughout his final days. Coreen's extended family maintained a strong connection with him throughout the years, providing invaluable support during his most challenging times.

In addition to his wife and sons, John adored his family dog, Mikey, who brought him much joy and companionship.

John’s bond with his sister, Julie, remained strong until the end, and her extraordinary and exceptional care for him during his final days was a testament to their deep connection.

John is survived by his wife Coreen and sons Nicholas and James DeMarco, brother David DeMarco and wife Jessica Buchman, and sister Julie DeMarco LaPorta and husband John LaPorta. He will be sincerely and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
