Joanne (Ring) Nice

HAVERHILL - Joanne M. (Ring) Nice, 81, passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. 

Joanne was born on November 16, 1943, in Lawrence, MA to her loving parents, the late John “Allie” and Catherine (Curtin) Ring. Lifelong resident of Haverhill, MA, Joanne attended St. James Grammar School and High School and completed her education at The Chandler School in Boston. Throughout her career, Joanne held positions at Western Electric and Perrone and Associates, where she made bonds and friendships that remained throughout her lifetime. 

Joanne’s life was marked by many accomplishments, but she took greatest pride in her family. Joanne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was devoted to and cherished by her beloved husband of 56 years, George Nice, her daughter, Colleen (Nice) Sughrue and her husband Paul Sughrue, Jr., granddaughters Kayla (Nice) Ross and her husband Alex Ross, Lauren Sughrue, and her great-grandson William Ross. 

As we say farewell to Joanne, we honor a gracious, kind, and generous woman whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but remembered and celebrated forever in the hearts of her family and friends. 

Relatives and friends invited to join with her family for visitation on Saturday, February 8, in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main Street, Haverhill, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM. Private interment will take place.
