Janice (Donohue) Mallette

HAVERHILL - Janice E. (Donohue) Mallette, 85, resident of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022 in Haverhill.

Janice was the daughter of the late John and Ina Donohue of Methuen. She was the wife of the late Leon Mallette who passed away in 1995 after sharing 38 years of loving marriage.

Janice attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School for 12 years, graduating in 1954. She worked at Reed-Meredith, a wig making company in the Lawrence Mills early in her career as a manager.

In 1971 she was hired at Raytheon and worked in several positions for 30 years until her retirement. She held jobs in the tool crib and working on the Scud missile. She was proud to also work on assembling the Patriot missile. President George H. Bush came to Raytheon and Janice was selected to have a photo taken with him because she was dressed in patriotic attire (a red shirt) and a big smile!

She babysat grandchildren and great grandchildren and at the age of 75 worked for a bus company as a monitor for special needs children and loved them all.

Janice loved to dance and dress up for holidays and occasions. She loved going to bingo and playing cards with friends and family. She was a member of the Methuen American Legion Ladies Auxiliary until her passing. She was generous and always wanted to help people. She loved country music, jazz, Lifetime movies, and Bob Loves Abishola, a sitcom that she watched faithfully every Monday night!

Janice is survived by her children Linda Meuse and her husband Brian of Haverhill, Susan Mallette of Derry, NH, Dawn and Michael Burpee of Manchester, NH; brother Bill and Maureen Donohue of Shrewsbury; grandchildren Karrie, Daniel, Bryan, Scott, Leanne, Erica, Felecia, Nicole, Brandy, Erin and Melissa; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by siblings Donald Donohue of Lawrence, Jack Donohue of Methuen and Nancy Rocheleau of Haverhill.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will begin Saturday in the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel of Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main Street, Haverhill at 11:30 AM.
