Janet Marie Forrest of North Andover passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on Oct 22,1941 in Boston to the late Margaret LeBlanc and the late George Forrest. Janet is survived by her siblings, George and the late Vivian Forrest of Haverhill, and Carol and the late Ray McManus of Andover. She was the dedicated aunt to Chip Forrest of Salisbury, and Nadine and Andy Slavin of Tewksbury. She was also the Great Aunt to Megan, Tyler, Emily, and Carlye. Family and her strong catholic faith were the most important things in her life.
Janet lived her life on her own terms. She was always very active and loved exploring new things. She loved to travel in her younger years, visiting many places like Africa, Antigua and all throughout Europe. Nothing made her happier than when she found a rare antique at a shop or auction. Painting and then woodworking were some of her passions. Her family is blessed to have many of her paintings and carvings to treasure for years to come. She also enjoyed playing numerous games, especially Mahjong with her many friends in her development.
Honoring Janet’s wishes, services with be private and only for the immediate family. Janet was also very passionate about all kinds of animals. Donations in her name can be made to the Sweet Paws Rescue in Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
