James (Jim) P. Corcoran

ANDOVER – James (Jim) P. Corcoran, age 77, of Andover, passed away on January 10, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Wanda (Messina) Corcoran, devoted father to his son Christopher Corcoran and his wife Anne of Harvard, MA, and his daughter Lindsay Corcoran Papadopoulos and her husband John of Andover, MA. He was also an adored “Papa” to Ezra, Calvin and Barrie Corcoran and Maya and Olivia Papadopoulos. Jim is survived by his sister Mary Corcoran Hier of Jupiter, FL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his loving parents Joseph and Monica Corcoran and his 3 brothers of Bennington, VT and Bronx, NY. 

Jim attended Vermont College in Bennington, VT, and graduated from Bentley College, Boston, After graduation he began working at Bond Bros. Inc. in Everett, MA where he spent the next 37 years working in finance. During this time he also served in the National Guard. Throughout his life he constantly remained focused on his family, his work, investing and sports. He and Wanda had two children which he always maintained were his greatest achievement.  To the end he loved being a father and sharing his love of sports and finance with them and his beautiful grandchildren. He learned at an early age, from his mother and grandmother that if was far more important to give than to receive and he passed those lessons on to his family. Jim was a kind and generous man with a wonderful sense of humor. Those who knew him would remark on his quick wit and easy smile. He will be forever loved and missed by all whose life he touched.

Celebration of Jim’s life will be held later in the year when it is safe to gather.
