Jacquelyn ‘Jackie’ A. (Lariviere) Faulkner

Jacquelyn ‘Jackie’ A. (Lariviere) Faulkner,  of West Newbury, died on Friday, January 9 at Portsmouth hospital following a brief stay. Jackie was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Frances, her brother Ed, and her beloved husband, Fred. She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Frederick III (Lisa) of Westminster, CO, Keith (Ellen) of Beverly, MA, Andrea Brown (Dave) of Golden, CO, John (Melanie) of Stratham, NH, Todd (Maureen) of Burlington, NJ, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Born in Lawrence, MA in 1936, she was raised in Methuen and attended Methuen Public Schools. She received a BA in Education from Merrimack College and furthered her studies at Boston University. She began her career as a teacher in the Reading School System and then took a job at Western Electric where she met Fred. Married in 1960, they moved to West Newbury where they raised five children. Jackie started a second career once the kids grew up where she worked in the main office of the Pentucket School System. Jackie and Fred eventually retired and enjoyed travelling and attending countless activities of their grandkids. 

Following Fred’s passing in 2019, Jackie was supported by a strong social network that kept her active and engaged. She dearly loved her family and her Catholic faith. Jackie enjoyed a competitive card game of 45’s or 31, where her legendary poker face often hid a winning hand. She was fiercely committed to her daily fitness routine, completing 100 sit-ups a day and always getting her steps in no matter the weather – even if it meant walking laps around the inside of the house. She also loved the company of a good book from the local library and cheering on the New England Patriots.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17, at St. Ann Church, 300 Main Street, West Newbury, at 11:00 AM. Spring interment will take place in Merrimack Cemetery, West Newbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the West Newbury G.A.R. Memorial Library or West Newbury Fire and Rescue.
