Hillegonda ‘Connie’ Van Dyk Soerewyn

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hillegonda ‘Connie’ Van Dyk Soerewyn on May 13, 2025, she was 95 years old and born in Utrecht, Holland. She was married to her husband, Herman Van Dyk Soerewyn from Holland as well, and came to this country in 1957 with their two young daughters, Irene and Vera.

She took courses in the evenings to improve her English and thereafter to nursing school for her RN degree. She worked for many years at JB Thomas Hospital as a Charge Nurse. She and her husband enjoyed cruises and vacations. She loved to play piano for nursing homes and churches.

She is survived by her daughters Irene Duvall and Vera Van Dyk Soerewyn, two grandchildren; Michael Duvall and Kimberly Hall, four great grandchildren; AJ and Russell Duvall and Cora and Tracie Hall.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Words of Remembrance beginning at 6:30 PM. Private interment will be held in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
