HAVERHILL - Gary passed away on Thursday, February 16, after a brief illness, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Gary was born in Boston, MA to Ralph Arnold and Rita (Whelton) Croft. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Salem State College. He was a banker for over 50 years, working all over the North Shore. He was an avid runner, completing dozens of marathons and half marathons. He loved golfing, swimming, and biking, as well. He was an avid music and Celtics fan throughout his life.
Gary’s favorite pastime was traveling with his wife, Mary Lou and his family; most especially to Walt Disney World and Martha’s Vineyard.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Lou (Sparks), his sons Gary M. and his wife Amy of Haverhill, David T. and his wife Amanda of Newburyport, his grandchildren Morgan and Madison Croft of Haverhill and Jaydon Church of Newburyport, and his brothers Arnold and his wife Alice of Homosassa, FL and Wayne and his wife Lee-Ann of Lynn, as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Service will begin at 6:00 PM.
