Frank J. Wendell passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, June 5, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Frank was born in Salem, MA and lived most of his life in Peabody until moving to Haverhill in the early 2000’s. He was a graduate of Peabody High School. Frank served in the Army Reserves for 6 years, and then went on to have a fulfilling career with Varian for 48 years. Frank was the New England Patriots #1 Fan. He was a season ticket holder before you could be a season ticket holder, starting when they were the Boston Patriots playing at Harvard, through cold Foxboro benches, to the luxury that is now Gillette Stadium. Frank loved Old Orchard Beach, Dunkies Coffee, and playing his numbers.
Frank was married to his wife Linda for 58 years. They raised three amazing children together. Frank leaves behind his daughter Pamela Joia and her husband Larry of Bradford, son Thomas Wendell of Amarillo, TX. He is predeceased by his son Frank Wendell of Rome, NY. Frank also leaves behind eight grandchildren Stacy, Krisandra, Lawrence, Blaine, Tyler, Cooper, Lily and Jonathan; and 13 great grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as “Cookie”.
Frank was the corner stone of his family, and he will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flower, the family is asking for donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Society. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
