GROVELAND - Frank Sadowski passed away on February 9, 2023, at the age of 79 surrounded by his loved ones after a long and heroic battle with cancer.
Born on February 3, 1944 in Lawrence, MA, he attended local schools and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1963. He then went on to study at the Art Institute of Boston.
Retired in 2008 from the VA Hospital in Bedford, MA after 42+ years of service as an art / recreation therapist and a drug / alcohol counselor. He also spent many years as a master Scout leader as well as president/past president of the Groveland Historical Society and then for The Council on Aging.
Frank enjoyed sharing his gift with others in teaching his craft. He loved gardening and decorating his home to the 9’s for every holiday season.
Frank is proceeded by parents Leo and Stella Sadowski. Survived by his loving wife Susan of 51 years; three children Sara Gullo of Haverhill, Rana and Jason Pineau of Skowhegan, ME and Marc Sadowski of Groveland; sister Linda Mangi and husband and Peter of Belmont, MA; and longtime friend Walter Higgins of TX; as well as his grandchildren Brian Gosselin and Damian Gullo; and a very large extended family including nine in-laws and families.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will begin Tuesday in the funeral home at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main Street, Haverhill at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
