Florence Edna (Gariepy) LaRochelle

Florence Edna LaRochelle (Gariepy), 90, of Haverhill Mass passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 16, 2025. Born in 1934 and educated in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late, Amedee L. and Thelma (Rowell) Gariepy. 

She loved going to local coffee shops every morning to get a cup of coffee and chat with the regulars. She loved being outside, basking in the fresh New England air and the busyness of strangers. Anyone lucky enough to cross her path was somehow touched by her gentle soul and her giving personality. She was a prolific artist, having loved to draw her whole life, and even showcased her art a few years ago in her apartment. She was a fiercely independent woman, strong, courageous, nurturing and compassionate. She is survived by her four children. Robert Florent jr., Brian Florent, Steven LaRochelle and Laurie LaRochelle.

She is known in her family as “memere” or “meme,” all of her surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren have had the immense privilege of having her in their lives and are forever grateful for the impact she has made by her presence.
