Evangelos Papadopoulos

HAVERHILL - Evangelos Papadopoulos, 90, a longtime Haverhill resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023.

Cherished husband of Eleni Papadopoulos, father of Dimitri and Apostolos (Paul), father in-law of Katerina and Maria, grandfather of Angelo and Helena.

Born and raised in Alexandria, Greece, Evangelos married his sweetheart Eleni in 1960 and started his family. In 1970, with his family, Evangelos immigrated to the United States, first arriving in Philadelphia, and eventually moving to Haverhill. As a professional tailor in Greece, Evangelos was hired at Samuel Roberts Clothing Factory. Eventually, he worked at AT&T, staying with the company until his retirement in 1998.

Evangelos was a simple man, hardworking, gentle, and kind, who put his family first, believed in God and in doing his best. He loved his wife, was proud of his sons, admired his daughters-in-law and grandchildren. An avid sports fan, he loved his Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruimens, as he fondly called them. Last April, his family celebrated his 90th birthday and knew that every day was a blessing. May he find peace among the angels in heaven and may his memory be eternal.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, in Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 154 Winter Street, Haverhill from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Services will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.  Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill.
