HAVERHILL - Erika Hues, 51, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2020. Cherished wife of Christopher McCuen. 

Erika Hues passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 5th, 2020. Born on August 27, 1969, Erika grew up in Worcester, graduating from Burncoat Senior High School in 1987. Erika eventually moved to Boston and lived there for many years. She met her husband Chris McCuen in 2013 and they married August 23, 2019. The newlyweds then relocated to Haverhill, Massachusetts where they settled. She worked as a caretaker for many years, most recently working for Hannah Duston Healthcare Center. Her passion in life was helping others and found joy in taking care of the sick and elderly. Erika enjoyed music, reading, cooking and spending time with her children. She had a smile that could light up a room. She had the biggest, most kind heart and would give her last to help anyone in need. Her mother Beverley predeceased her in 2018, along with her niece Crystal in 2013 and sister Danielle in 2004.

Erika is survived by her husband Chris McCuen of Haverhill; five daughters Cherice Alejandro of Fall River, Massachusetts, Shanica Hues of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Ayanna Beach of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Deja Beach and Natalia Beach of Haverhill, Massachusetts; her four siblings Yvette Tolson of North Carolina, Valerie Hues of North Carolina, Antone Hues of New York and Zeline Hues and her husband Sam of Worcester, Massachusetts, as well as many friends and family. She loved her husband greatly and always referred to him as “ the love of her life “. She loved her girls more than anything and often referred to them as “ Her reasons for living”. Her passing is devastating to her family and she will be missed terribly. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Mill Street, Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
