Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Brinton, 80, of Newburyport, formerly of Lynn, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Born on August 24, 1944, in Lynn, Betty was the beloved daughter of the late Irene and Carl Burrows. She was predeceased by her husband, David Brinton.
Betty is survived by her devoted son, Charles Cashman, and his wife, Tina Dutko. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Daniel Cashman and his wife Yuliya, and to Allison Christensen and her husband Ethan. Betty also held a special place in her heart for her great-granddaughter, Harper Christensen. She is also survived by her dear sister, Joan Madden of Old Orchard Beach, ME, along with two nieces, three nephews, and many treasured friends.
A woman of deep faith and quiet strength, Betty was known for her warm spirit and kind heart. She found great joy in the simple pleasures—curling up with a good book, watching her favorite Hallmark movies, and reminiscing while looking through photographs. Family and friendship were the cornerstones of her life, and she cherished every visit and conversation with loved ones.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport for their compassionate care and support during Betty’s time there.
Though Betty is no longer with us in the physical world, her memory will remain a guiding light for those who knew and loved her. Her gentle presence, thoughtful words, and unwavering love leave a legacy that will continue to touch lives for generations.
Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, in Driscoll Funeral Home in Haverhill, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Diabetes Association in Betty’s name. Forever in our hearts, Betty will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
