Edward “Ski” Sleckowski, 85, of Boylston, formerly of Framingham, passed away peacefully at his home on November 20, 2025 surrounded by family after a brief but brave struggle with cancer.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Susan, and his children, Michael (Daine) Sleczkowski, Peter Sleczkowski and Jessica (Eric) Rubinow. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Alex (Yalun) Sleczkowski, Julia and Emma Rubinow. He also leaves behind his siblings; Judith Lang, Dorothy Donahue and Alfred (Donna) Sleczkowski; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and grandnieces. He was predeceased by his parents, his aunt Elizabeth Sleczkowski and his brother-in-law Walter Lang.
Ed was born on July 19, 1940 in Brookline, MA, son of Stanley and Dorothy Sleczkowski. He graduated from Framingham High School in 1959. After graduation, he served in the United States Army until 1963. He then proudly embarked on an over thirty year civil servant career, first as a Framingham police officer and then as a Framingham firefighter, retiring in 1995.
Ed was a proud and quiet man, with a mischievous smirk or a one-liner to tell. He always had a word of advice for anyone who asked and was the trusted advisor in the family on almost every topic. In retirement, Ed and Sue enjoyed years of travel across the globe, with a love for cruising anywhere a ship could take them. He also loved football, especially the Patriots, and was an avid fantasy football manager. Ed loved getting together with family, playing cards, and reminding everyone of his proud Polish heritage. He also loved his granddogs. His favorite thing to do though was to be “Papa” to his girls and attend their school and sporting events, cheering them on proudly from the sideline of every game.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Lauri Jusseaume who provided such great care to Ed in his final days.
Per Ed’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. In lieu of this, please perform an act of kindness in his name. He did say we could have a party to remember him, so per his direction, a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 30th at 12:00 PM, at the Hudson Elks, 91 Park Street. Close friends and family are welcome to attend. Arrangments made by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
