Donna M. (Woodland) Vencis

HAVERHILL - Donna M. (Woodland) Vencis, 71, of Haverhill and formerly of Saugus, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 20, surrounded by her family and close friends after a brief but valiant fight against Stage 4 Angiosarcoma.

She was born at her home in Saugus on April 15, 1949. Daughter of the late Harry A. and Dorothy P. (Spousta) Woodland.

Donna was raised in Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School, class of 1967. After high school she was a bookkeeper for AC Auto in Lynn for many years. After having a family and raising children, Donna went back to work as an employee for the City of Haverhill School Department for 10 years. She then went on to find her forever job and work family at the Eagle Tribune for 17 years. There, she became the heartbeat of her department. She was the smile that everyone looked forward to, that soft, cheerful voice that was always welcoming you and asking how you and your day was. Whether you were a co-worker or customer she always went above and beyond to make sure you got what you asked or called for. She was a staple there, a valuable, respected, compassionate and remarkable member of her work family because that’s what she always referred to them as her family. She is irreplaceable. 

She loved spending time with her children, her two daughters were her absolute world and meant everything to her. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved to show them off. She valued her family and friends. They were the most important aspects of her life. She loved her neighbors and they adored and loved her very much. Especially Kate, Kevin, and Jay. They always made sure she was taken care of.

Donna is survived by her beloved daughters Ashlee Vencis and her significant other Jesse Schopp of Jacksonville, NC and Amanda Vencis and her fiancé Mike Dipietro of Kingston, NH; sister Sue McKay and her husband Dennis of Peabody; brother Butch Woodland of Saugus; cherished grandchildren Maxx, Jackson and Addison along with their mother Christine Jackson who is a dear friend and huge part of her life; niece Jenn Woodland and nephew Jason Woodland of Saugus; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She was the mother of Adam Vencis who passed away in August, 2019.  

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 28, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Please note to wear face coverings and social distancing measures will be in place. Contributions may be made in Donna’s memory to
