Dimitrios 'Jimmy' Karaganis

Dimitrios ‘Jimmy’ Karaganis, a longtime resident of Salem and later Nashua, NH, passed away on December 10, 2025.

He was born in Ierakas, Greece, on June 30, 1942, the son of the late Konstantinos and Eleni (Belesi) Karaganis.

Jimmy immigrated to the United States in 1965 and began his working life in a shoe factory in Haverhill, MA. He later discovered his entrepreneurial spirit and founded his own painting company, Dimitrios Painting, serving the Merrimack Valley area. In his free time, he enjoyed spending days at Rockingham Park in search of a long shot. He loved gaming and was always eager to share his strategies. He also enjoyed fishing, and the beach was one of his favorite places to relax.

He is survived by his two brothers, Anastasios Karaganis of Haverhill and Elias Karaganis of North Attleboro, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Maria Karaganis, Panagiota Karaganis, and Anna Andromidas.
