GEORGETOWN - Diane Nadeau passed away peacefully at home on June 18, 2024. Diane was with her children and husband when she decided to let go of her life on earth. We believe Diane ceased her battle with cancer deliberately and shut down. Not for lack of courage to fight, but solely to end the burden of her illness imposed on her husband and children as caregivers. Diane believed in life after death, had faith that she would one day unite with her mother. Diane was just 20 years old starting her own family, when Theresa left this world. She is at peace now beside her mother watching over loved ones on earth, securing them a place in the life here after.
Born to Theresa and George Boucher on February 24,1958 in Salem, MA, she was the third child of four and the only girl. Her family moved to Peabody in 1964 where Diane attended school and graduated from Peabody High.
In 1976, the same year she graduated, Diane married Ken Nadeau of Salem, MA. On November 27th of the same year, Diane gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Melissa. Then on March 10, 1978 their son Jason was born. Diane’s sole purpose in life was to raise those two children. Diane loved her babies so much, one could not put her devotion into words. Melissa and Jason were without question the most well behaved kids on the planet, totally due to Diane’s love and guidance.
Melissa is married to Todd Gilbo and have two boys Shane (20) and Jake (18). Jason is married to Jamie Searl and they have three boys Rex (14), Colten (13) and Cash (9).. The five boys are often referred to as the five knuckleheads by Grampy Nadeau. Diane loved them all, unable to physically attend games, she always followed their involvement in sports, especially baseball.
Diane was a professional at sheltering in place. She was most comfortable in her home. Decorating her home and caring for her plants became Diane’s full time job after medical problems took over her life in 2014. If one was to Google Diane Nadeau, one word would come up … “COURAGE.”
Diane will be deeply missed by her friends & family. She leaves behind her brothers, Bobby Boucher and (predeceased wife) Sharon, Donny Boucher and (wife) Maureen, and Alan Boucher. As well as, brother and sister-in law’s; Kathy Nadeau, Jacky Nadeau (wife) Stephanie, Gerry Nadeau (wife) Brenda, Gary Nadeau (wife) Terri, Marcia Nadeau, Maryanne Ham (husband) Dana, Joey Nadeau (wife) Holly; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
