Dana Durkee, 66, passed away on January 29, 2026 surrounded by his family and friends.
Dana found his greatest peace on the water with a fishing rod in hand. Whether casting a line at dawn or sharing stories of the days catch at dusk, he cherished every moment spent on the water. This led him to eventually opening his own bait and tackle store later in life. There he was able to lend his knowledge of fishing to others and enjoyed swapping tales of the biggest fish caught.
Dana also enjoyed classic cars and fixing them up. This was evident by the cars and car parts scattered around the yard.
Dana is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Durkee, who was his partner in every sense of the word. He also leaves behind four children Heather, Melissa, Andrew, and Alex, as well as several grandchildren each of whom carries forward his values and love.
He will be remembered for his generosity and the way he made everyone around him feel valued. Dana’s legacy lives on in the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the family he adored.
His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit remains with all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
