Christine Helen (O'Neil) Harding, a resident of Haverhill, formerly of Andover, passed away unexpectedly at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen during the early hours of Wednesday morning, April 9th, 2025. She was 64 years old.
Born in Andover on September 8th 1960, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph & Eunice Barbara O’Neil. Christine dedicated her life to helping others. She was known for having started the Harding Fire Victim Relief Fund in which she fundraised and collected food and clothes to help families that experienced loss, even going as far as to house a family that lost their home. This wasn’t the first act of kindness she portrayed. At the early age of 11, she started a movement of “adopting” grandparents for Christmas. While many families would have their grandfathers and grandmothers over for the holiday, not all grandparents had family and Christine didn’t think they should be alone. Christine had so much kindness to give throughout her life and would always be on the lookout for ways she could help.
Christine is also known for her musical talents such as playing the drums and the organ in her younger years, and her love for taking on challenges. Her children all loved her adventurous side whether it was zip lining, axe throwing, bowling, snow tubing or floating down the Saco. Christine would always partake and ensure they had fun. And her favorite times were always with her “grandbabies” as she called them, jumping at every chance she could to play with them.
Christine is survived by her children and their spouses: Shawn and Michelle Noel of Haverhill, MA, Dana Harding and Meg Gaskell of Manchester, NH, Keri and Giuseppe DiMarca of Manchester, NH, Jamie and Christopher Potter of Smithfield, NC, Sheri and Joseph O’Hearn of Haverhill, MA, Kayla Harding of Haverhill, MA, and Jesica Harding of Smithfield, NC. She will be missed dearly by her 16 grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses: Barbara and Michael Kennedy of Haverhill, MA, Beverly and Raymond 'Skip' Schmidt of Stoughton, MA, Stephen O'Neil of Lawrence, MA, Mary Beth O'Neil of Haverhill, MA, David O’Neil, Joseph O’Neil and Kelli Laffin of Londonderry, NH, William O'Neil of Manchester, NH, Daniel and Paulette O'Neil of Hampstead, NH, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two siblings, Carolyn Leone and James O'Neil.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Words of Remembrance beginning at 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. For guestbook, please visit www.driscollcares.com
