Charlotte A. DesMarais, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died on April 10 in Sharon, CT after a brief illness. Born on January 13, 1940, the daughter of Raymond J. and Germaine Goudreault, she enjoyed sixty years of marriage to her late husband, Robert E. DesMarais. She leaves behind her sons Robert E. Jr. of Kent, CT, Christopher P. of Orlando, FL, and Ted M. (Stephanie) of East Greenwich, RI. Her grandchildren include Lucien and Ava DesMarais and Dante and Mia DesMarais, in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Following her graduation from Merrimack College, Charlotte worked as an administrative assistant at Western Electric before raising her family in Bradford. When she resumed employment, she very much enjoyed her time in the sporting goods department at Service Merchandise and in the Arakelian Dentistry office, both in Bradford. She was an avid golfer and was a long-time member of the Bradford Swim Club. In addition, together with her husband, she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Pre-Cana counselor at Sacred Hearts Parish. An exceptional hostess, she taught her sons the art of hospitality. They, in childhood and adulthood, both, were the beneficiaries of her great love, devotion, and willingness to put her family's needs before her own. She'll be greatly missed for that and many other reasons.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held by invitation for family and friends celebrated at Sacred Hearts Church, Haverhill, MA. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
