Carol Peterson Obituary

GLEN, NH - Carol L. Peterson, 91, of Glen, NH (formerly of Danvers, MA), passed away peacefully at High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA, on Monday, November 6, 2023. Born in 1932 in Swampscott, MA, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian Ruddock. Carol grew up in Lynn, MA, and attended Lynn Public Schools, graduating from Lynn English High School in 1949. She also attended Bridgewater State College and worked at General Electric.  She was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Peterson with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Carol and her husband raised their family in Danvers where they lived happily for 30 years. She was active in the Methodist Church and always supported her kids’ athletic and educational endeavors. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and played in local Ladies Tennis Leagues. In addition to her time playing tennis, Carol was an amazing baker, talented seamstress, and avid Red Sox fan. She was a passionate competitor who was always up for a game of Scat or attempting to win the Thanksgiving family football pool.

After moving to Glen, she worked at both Cranmore and Attitash Ski Resorts for more than 20 years. Carol made many friends in “The Valley” and spent her retirement golfing, playing tennis, and skiing in the White Mountains. She truly enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and supported her family in any way she could.

She is deeply missed by her three daughters: Kristine Schulz of Bradford, MA; Kimberly Jewett and her husband Bruce of Pelham, NH; and Kyle Currier and her husband Gene of Gorham, ME. She is also greatly missed by grandchildren: Samantha Komorous (Brian) of Newburyport, MA; Stefan Schulz (Julia Del Muro) of North Andover, MA; Alyssa Jewett of Pelham, NH; Hannah Currier-Church (Jeremiah) of Brunswick, ME; Jordan Currier of Gorham, ME; and September Ingram (Ryan) of Hudson, NH. She will also be missed by her great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Bob, son Kurt Peterson of Andover, MA, son-in-law Scott Schulz of Bradford, MA, sister Elizabeth Ruddock Hamilton of Hamilton, MA, and her loyal companion, Misty Shadow.

A small service will be held in May of 2024 for family and close friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of High Pointe House for their exceptional care and support.
