SALEM, NH - Carol A. (Drelick) Baxter, 77, of Salem, NH formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2021.
Carol was born in Haverhill on December 20, 1943, daughter of the late Martin and Helen (Perog) Drelick. She was raised in the Bradford section of Haverhill and was a graduate of the Haverhill High School, class of 1961.
In 1964 Carol married Alan, her loving husband of 57 years. Soon after they married they purchased her childhood home where they raised their family and hosted countless parties for friends and family. Carol loved to welcome everyone into their home. She loved the impromptu decision to go for a ride and stop in to visit friends for coffee or when the kids and all of their friends would gather at their house. Carol beamed when her children’s friends would refer to her as their other mom and spent many years being just that, a mom for all.
Upon Al’s retirement from the Haverhill Fire Department, they moved to Alton Bay, NH where Carol was a realtor while loving the lake life, entertaining constant guests, taking countless motorcycle rides and traveling with friends. They later moved to Davenport, FL where Carol was active in her church and with the Columbiettes until deciding to move back to New Hampshire in 2014 to be close to with their family.
Carol sought comfort in her pets and only saw the good in people. When she laughed it was always genuine, hearty and a release of life’s burdens.
Her surviving family members in addition to her husband Alan include their son Daniel Baxter and his wife Kathleen, granddaughters Siobhan and Aislinn of North Reading; son Paul Baxter, granddaughter Amanda and grandson Brayden of Haverhill; daughter Candace Pagliccia and her husband Chris of Haverhill; steadfast friend and part time daughter Cheri (Quickley) Stevenson; sister Barbara Cote; sister in-law Victoria Drelick and many nieces and nephews; predeceased by her sister Claire Swenson, brother in-law Stanley Swenson, brother Bernard (Gene) Drelick and brother in-law Richard Cote.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday afternoon in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with a prayer service offered at 3:30PM.
